Heating Services in Richmond & Central Kentucky

When your furnace stops working in January, you need someone who can get there today

Next Level Heating & Air provides the full range of residential heating services across Central Kentucky — furnace repair and replacement, heat pump service, geothermal installation, and emergency heating response. Family-owned and based in Richmond since 2006. $89 flat trip charge, no emergency surcharge.

Furnace Repair & Installation

Ignitor failure is the most common furnace emergency we respond to — and we almost always have the part on the truck. Most Richmond and Lexington furnace calls are resolved in a single visit. For gas furnaces, we include a heat exchanger inspection every time; a cracked heat exchanger is a carbon monoxide risk and we don’t skip that step.

For furnace replacement, we size the system correctly using a load calculation, remove the old unit, and commission the new one fully before we leave. Average installation runs around $2,500–$4,000 for equipment, with total project cost varying by complexity. Written quote before we start.

Heat Pump Repair & Installation

Heat pumps handle both heating and cooling from a single system — a strong choice for most Central Kentucky homes, where the climate keeps them efficient for the majority of the year. We repair heat pumps in both heating and cooling modes, including defrost control issues that other companies misdiagnose as system failures.

For installation, we offer standard air-source systems as well as hybrid setups pairing a heat pump with a gas furnace backup for the coldest winter nights. We size and specify the right configuration for your home and climate zone.

Geothermal HVAC

Geothermal is the most efficient HVAC system available — and it’s a core service for us, not something we added to a website to look comprehensive. We design and install horizontal and vertical closed-loop ground-source systems for rural Central Kentucky properties with adequate land, and we service existing geothermal systems throughout the region.

New construction is the best time for geothermal installation — the loop field can go in during site grading, before landscaping makes excavation expensive. The 30% federal tax credit currently applies to new geothermal installations. Call for a free consultation if you’re on a rural property and have been curious.

A furnace that “needed replacing” — fixed for $285

A Richmond homeowner called us in December after a larger company quoted her over $4,000 to replace her furnace. She wanted a second opinion before spending that kind of money during the holidays. Andrew found a failed ignitor and a cracked inducer mount — both straightforward repairs. Total cost: $285. Furnace ran the rest of the winter without issue.
