The repair that three companies said couldn’t be done

A Lexington homeowner called us after three different HVAC companies told her she needed a full system replacement. Two of them wouldn’t even attempt the repair. Andrew drove out, spent about an hour on the system, and had it running — without replacing a single major component. She paid for a diagnostic and a small repair.

That’s not a lucky outcome. That’s what happens when you diagnose before you sell.

Common questions

How much does HVAC service cost in Richmond or Lexington?

The diagnostic visit is $89 — that covers your tech coming out, inspecting the system, and giving you a written repair quote. Repair costs are quoted separately and you approve them before any work starts. Most repairs run $150–$600. New installations average around $7,500 including equipment and labor. There are no emergency surcharges — the $89 trip charge is the same rate regardless of when you call.

What HVAC brands do you service and install?

We service every major residential brand — Trane, Goodman, Rheem, American Standard, Daikin, Day & Night, Heil, Tempstar, and Sure Comfort. For installations, we’re authorized dealers for Day & Night and Goodman, and we also install Trane, American Standard, Daikin, and Rheem depending on the project.

How quickly can I get same-day service in Central Kentucky?

Same-day is available for most calls Monday through Saturday. We’re based in Richmond, which puts us within 15–35 minutes of most addresses across the region. During major heat waves or cold snaps when demand spikes, call early — (859) 544-3440 — and we’ll give you a straight answer on current availability.

Do you offer maintenance plans?

Yes — our maintenance plan covers your spring AC tune-up and fall furnace tune-up under one annual agreement, with priority scheduling so you’re on the calendar before the seasonal rush. Each visit is $120 flat. We provide written documentation after every visit, which also satisfies most manufacturer warranty requirements. See /maintenance/hvac-maintenance-plan for details.

Do you handle geothermal HVAC in Central Kentucky?

Yes — geothermal is a core service, not something we dabble in. We design and install horizontal and vertical closed-loop systems for rural properties with adequate land, and we service existing geothermal systems. New construction is the ideal time for geothermal installation, but retrofit installations are feasible on the right property. Geothermal currently qualifies for a 30% federal tax credit. Call us for a free consultation.

Should I repair or replace my HVAC system?

It depends on what’s wrong, how old the system is, and what the repair costs relative to replacement. As a general rule: if the system is under 12–15 years old and the repair costs less than roughly half what a new system would cost, repair usually makes more sense. We’ll tell you honestly which situation you’re in — including a written quote for both options if replacement is on the table.
