HVAC services in Richmond & Central Kentucky

Next Level Heating & Air is based at 1024 Race St in Richmond — not a franchise, not a regional call center.

Andrew and his crew have been servicing furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and everything in between across Central Kentucky since 2006. We work on any brand, quote before we start, and don’t push replacement when a repair makes more sense.

Whether you need same-day emergency service, a second opinion before committing to a new system, or a $120 seasonal tune-up to stay ahead of the next heat wave or cold snap — this is the page to start from.

Richmond’s HVAC team — built on second opinions

We get more second-opinion calls than almost anything else. A Lexington homeowner had three companies tell her the system needed full replacement before she called us. Andrew was out in an hour and had it running without replacing a single major component. Paid for a diagnostic and a small repair. We can’t always save the system — but we always give you an honest assessment before recommending the expensive path.

Cooling services

Central Kentucky summers are hot and humid, and an AC system that hasn’t been serviced is a July emergency waiting to happen. We carry common parts on the truck so most repairs are done in one visit.

  • AC repair in Richmond & Lexington. All brands. Diagnosed and quoted before we start. Same-day when available.
  • AC installation and replacement. Right-sized system, proper load calculation, installation completed in most cases in one day.
  • Ductless mini-split installation. Garages, additions, bonus rooms, older homes without ductwork — one zone, one outdoor unit, no major construction required.
  • Spring AC tune-ups. $120 flat. Catches the capacitors, coil buildup, and refrigerant issues that cause most August emergencies.
  • Emergency AC repair. Same-day availability. $89 trip charge. No emergency surcharge.

Heating services

A furnace that fails in January isn’t a problem you schedule for next week. We carry the parts that cause most heating emergencies so most calls are resolved in one visit — furnaces, heat pumps, and geothermal systems alike.

  • Furnace repair in Richmond & Lexington. All brands, carbon monoxide safety check on every gas furnace diagnostic.
  • Furnace installation and replacement. Authorized Day & Night and Goodman dealer. Old unit removed and disposed of, system fully commissioned before we leave.
  • Heat pump repair and installation. Air-source, hybrid heat pump with gas backup, and full cold-climate systems. We know the difference between a defrost cycle and a real failure.
  • Geothermal HVAC. Core service — not a side project. Horizontal and vertical closed-loop systems, new construction and retrofits. 30% federal tax credit currently applies.
  • Fall furnace tune-ups. $120 flat. Heat exchanger inspection every visit — not optional.
  • New construction HVAC. About 20% of our work. We join projects at the design phase when possible, coordinate rough-in with other trades, and commission at completion.

Maintenance & emergency

Most of the July and January emergencies we respond to could have been caught in April or October for $120. A seasonal tune-up finds the failing capacitor, the coated flame sensor, the low refrigerant charge — before they become the 10PM emergency call.

  • HVAC maintenance plan. Covers your spring AC visit and fall furnace visit under one annual agreement. Priority scheduling — you’re on the calendar before the rush. Written documentation provided for warranty compliance.
  • Emergency HVAC repair. Same-day availability, Mon–Sat 8AM–8PM. No emergency surcharge. $89 trip charge. If you have no heat or no AC right now, call — don’t submit a form.

What you can count on

  • $89 flat trip charge. Same rate for a scheduled call or an emergency. No surcharges, no after-hours premium.
  • Honest diagnosis every time. We inspect before we quote. Nothing gets recommended until we’ve actually looked at what’s wrong.
  • No pressure toward replacement. If the system can be repaired affordably, we say so. If replacement makes more financial sense, we say that too — and give you numbers for both.
  • All major residential brands serviced. Trane, Goodman, Rheem, American Standard, Daikin, Day & Night, Heil, Tempstar, Sure Comfort.
  • Authorized Day & Night and Goodman dealer. Factory warranty registration, current equipment, direct manufacturer support.

Common questions about HVAC service

How much does HVAC service cost in Richmond or Central Kentucky?

$89 covers the diagnostic visit — full system inspection, root cause identified, written repair quote. Repair costs are quoted separately and approved before we start. Most repairs run $150–$600. New installations average around $7,500 including equipment and labor. No emergency surcharges. The $89 trip charge is the same rate regardless of when you call or how urgent the situation is.

What HVAC brands does Next Level Heating & Air service in Central Kentucky?

All major residential brands — Trane, Goodman, Rheem, American Standard, Daikin, Day & Night, Heil, Tempstar, and Sure Comfort. We’re authorized dealers for Day & Night and Goodman, which means factory warranty registration, direct manufacturer support, and current equipment on every installation.

How quickly can I get same-day HVAC service in Richmond or Lexington?

Same-day is available for most calls Monday through Saturday. We’re based in Richmond, which puts us within 15–35 minutes of most Central Kentucky addresses. During extreme weather when demand spikes, call early — (859) 544-3440 — and we’ll give you a straight answer on current availability.

Should I repair or replace my HVAC system?

It depends on what’s wrong, the system’s age, and what the repair costs relative to replacement. A useful rule of thumb: if the system is under 12–15 years old and the repair costs less than roughly half of what a new system would cost, repair almost always makes more sense. We quote both when the question is genuinely close — and we don’t benefit from steering you either way.

We handle the full scope of residential HVAC services. No commercial HVAC, no plumbing. Just heating and cooling, done right.

What a Sunday emergency call looks like

A Central Kentucky homeowner had a non-emergency system issue on a Friday. Andrew came out on Sunday, diagnosed it in minutes, and had the parts ordered that day. Back on Tuesday, fixed. Start to finish in under a week, no emergency rate, no drama.
